Character Analysis
Daisy is Peter Walsh’s married lover in India. Scandalous! Peter is actually in London to see if he can get her a divorce; but it’s complicated because she has two children and there’s a major social disgrace factor involved. To add to the trouble, she is younger than he is, which means she could end up a widow. Daisy's existence also helps us realize that Peter is still in love with Clarissa – the contrast between how he feels about the two women is pretty obvious.
