Sheriff Ed Tom Bell Timeline & Summary

Sheriff Bell is on the trail of Chigurh after a deputy is killed.
Bell stays about twelve steps behind throughout the entire book, until everyone is dead and Chigurh gets away. Nice job, Bell.
Bell tells Carla Jean that her husband was killed. She is upset. Then she gets killed. Way to go once again, Bell.
Bell feels useless and inadequate, and he thinks about times when he was useless and inadequate in the past, like when he was awarded a war medal even though his entire platoon died.
At the end of the book, Bell feels like evil won and will continue winning, and there's nothing he can do to stop it.
What a downer.
