If modern poetry's going to give us a satisfying read, it can't get all "Waste Land" on us and complain about what an awful place the world is. It has to find beauty in everyday things, and show us all how to appreciate that beauty. It has to speak to the most delicate part of us and tell us whatever we want to hear.

In case he hasn't made the point clearly, Stevens ends the poem by claiming flat out that poetry must provide us with some sort of satisfaction. Now with that said, Stevens isn't the easiest poet in the world to understand. So maybe he could work on making his poems a little more accessible if he really wants to satisfy us.
