Mogget Timeline and Summary

At some point, over a thousand years before the story is set, the mysterious Free Magic Spirit Mogget is trapped by an Abhorsen and bound to serve the Abhorsen line.
Mogget apparently manifests differently to each Abhorsen, since Sabriel's father relates that in his time, Mogget was "a sort of albino dwarf-boy" and "practically never left the House" (22.74).
Sabriel meets Mogget when she arrives at Abhorsen's House. He instructs her in the ways of the House, accompanying her on her journey as she escapes the Mordicant in a Paperwing.
When the Paperwing is about to crash, Mogget urges Sabriel to release him from the binding collar, transforming into his true form and breaking the plane's fall. However, the plane ultimately tumbles into a sinkhole, and Mogget attempts to murder Sabriel while in his spirit form.
Sabriel traps Mogget once again using the ring, and Mogget journeys with Sabriel until they encounter Kerrigor at the capital city. When Sabriel's father rings Astarael to banish Kerrigor back to Death, this releases Mogget.
Mogget's whereabouts are unknown until he reappears at the final battle. He flings himself at Kerrigor, seemingly absorbed by the Greater Dead. When Sabriel defeats Kerrigor by binding him with Mogget's collar, Mogget reappears in white cat form once again, bound once more.
