Some scientists dedicate their studies to our eight-legged friends, and then they write fancy academic papers about them. One journal where you find these papers is Serket: The Arachnological Bulletin of the Middle East and North Africa. Being academic never looked so... um, leggy.

Want to sport a sweet (ahem, expensive) watch like the one worn by football star Brandon Marshall or that guy with the crazy hair who has shows on the Food Network? We're not totally sure what the connection is, but this fancy watch company is called Serket. They have a scorpion for their logo and everything.

The BBC has a show called Merlin (about the famous Arthurian wizard, of course), in which "Serkets" are giant (bigger-than-humans giant) scorpions that are none too friendly. Yowza.
