Dolores Price Timeline & Summary

Dolores is born in 1952. Her first memory is getting a television. How… sweet?
After her dad starts cheating and beating on her mom, they get a divorce.
Ma has a nervous breakdown, and Dolores goes to live with Grandma.
Grandma's tenant, Jack, rapes Dolores, and Dolores starts watching TV and eating all day, and grows to over 250 pounds.
After Ma dies in an accident, Dolores goes to college, where she steals her roommate's letters from her boyfriend, Dante.
Dolores drops out of school after her roommate's new boyfriend assaults her.
She stays with the school's lesbian janitor for one night, in her bed, then kills the woman's fish the next morning. (Seriously.)
After trying to drown herself alongside a beached whale (we are not making this up) she ends up in a mental institution (still serious).
When she gets out, she finds Dante and moves across the hall from him (not joking).
They get pregnant, have an abortion, and get married in that order.
But Dante turns out to be a nice guy. (Okay, now we're joking.) He cheats on her and abuses her; they divorce after Grandma dies, and Dolores moves into her house.
She eventually goes back to school, meets a new man—one who's actually decent—and he takes her on a whale watch, where she finally comes un-undone.
