The Sisterhood

Usually there's one main character, who hangs out at the heart of a book and whom we follow along, invested in how things work out for them. This book, however, has four main characters: Carmen, Bridget, Lena, and Tibby. And while this is a unique structure to say the least, and each girl has her own personality, not one of them rises to take center stage permanently. Instead it's the Sisterhood as a whole we root for, hoping that no matter where their adventures may take them individually, they'll come back together at summer's end.
