Skadi
Skadi
She skis through the snow like a pro, has deadly aim with a bow and arrow, and loves coming up with cruel and unusual punishments for everybody's arch-nemesis, Loki. Oh, and by the way, she also happens to be a giantess. This is one fierce lady. Skadi is the goddess of snow, mountains, bow hunting, and skiing. (Of course the Scandinavians have a goddess of skiing—are you really surprised?)
When the gods kill her father, Skadi rolls into Asgard fully armed, with one thing on her mind: payback. One of her demands is that she gets to marry a god. That marriage (to Njord) doesn't quite work out, but her influence among the gods continues. Her greatest claim to fame? Creating the perfect punishment for Loki, involving a bowl, some poisonous venom, and eternal bondage. What can we say? She's talented like that.
