Because poetry and memory are safe from war, the speaker can protect his beloved by building a sonnet around him. Unlike the stuff in lines 5-6, this poem-building is going nowhere. But the beloved himself is making tracks. Remembered by everyone, he kicks death's butt and strides into immortality.
