Character Role Analysis

Kylo Ren

We're inclined to think that Ren is more antagonist than flat-out villain since he's clearly conflicted and sometimes lacks the courage of his Let's Kill Everyone convictions.

But the sheer tonnage of death that he lays down or allows—everything from the Republican capital to the up-close-and-personal stabbing of his own darn father—leads us to use the harsher term.

A weasel villain he may be, but he's definitely a villain…and we don't think his duel with Rey is going to change that much.
