How It All Goes Down
Strega Nona is a witch, more or less.
In her small village in Italy, she serves as a wise elder, the local doctor, and a mystic all rolled into one. People whisper about her on the streets because of her strange abilities, but even so, they all go to see her when they need a cure or a potion.
As Strega Nona gets older, she decides she needs help at her house, so she hires Big Anthony to be her chore boy. One evening, Big Anthony witnesses Strega Nona making pasta with her magic pot and is awestruck. He longs to try it himself so he can impress the other villagers and prove to them that he's not a simpleton. The trouble is though, Strega Nona told him that the only rule in her house is that he can't touch the pasta pot.
When Strega Nona goes to visit a friend on the other side of the mountain, Big Anthony sees his chance. He puts the magic pot into service, and the rest of the villagers are indeed impressed. But there's one problem: Big Anthony doesn't know how to turn the magic pot off.
Just as the village is about to be overtaken by a pasta tsunami, Strega Nona returns from her visit and sets things right. The villagers are grateful to Strega Nona for saving them, but they're ready to string up Big Anthony for putting them in danger. Fortunately, Strega Nona has a better idea for Anthony's punishment. She hands him a fork and tells him to start eating.
He's got quite a mess to clean up.
