Captain Coles

Captain Coles is no Dumbledore: he isn't the type of guy to impart deep wisdom with fancy language.

He doesn't pretend to have any answers. But he does look out for his unit. He's always trying to keep them out of dangerous missions, and when they're sent anyway, he insists that they at least get to eat. He's a good guy to have watching your back.

However humble he is, he does have bits of advice from time to time. He tells Birdy that the war made him realize how much he cares about his family. And he warns his squad when necessary. "I just think everybody needs to get their game face on for this mission," (14.282) he tells the group before they reach the mission that will kill Jonesy. He is (sadly) on point.
