• Before he was born, an unnamed alien was "downloaded" into a human fetus. After the fetus was born, the alien was asleep in his human host, Evan.
• At age fifteen, the alien woke up and "absorbed" Evan. Now they are one-and-the same. Evan now has special alien superpowers, but he'll die if his human body bites the dust.
• Around the time Evan is eighteen or nineteen, the alien apocalypse happens. Evan watches his human family (and girlfriend) die horribly in the Third Wave.
• In the Fourth Wave, his alien superpowers are activated. Now Evan is hunting Cassie, who's alone in the open.
• After stalking her for a long time, Evan snipes Cassie, shooting her in the leg. Then he carries her unconscious form back to his farmhouse, where he helps her recover.
• There at the farmhouse—or maybe before—Evan falls in love with his human. He neglects to tell her that he's an alien, though. Or that he was the shooter.
• Evan burns down the farm (!) and hits the road with Cassie. They're on their way to the military base where her little brother is being held.
• On the way, they're attacked by child soldiers. After Evan uses his superpowers to kill them, he finally admits that, yes, he's an alien.
• Evan was injured during the showdown with the child soldiers. Cassie helps him pick shrapnel out of his butt even though she's mad about the alien thing.
• Together, they make their way to the base. Cassie goes in alone, but Evan secretly follows her in, leaving a bunch of dead soldiers in his wake.
• Evan shows up at an opportune moment when Vosch is about to fry Cassie's little bro. He saves the day, and blows up the base for good measure.
• His story ends on a cliffhanger: Did Evan survive the blast?
