This is one time when the title says it all. Malcolm X is obviously the protagonist of The Autobiography of Malcolm X. It's not the autobiography of Elijah Muhammad, or Ella Little. This book tells Malcolm X's story in his own words, and he's the only main character in the whole thing. There is no competition. Malcolm is our main man and our protagonist.
