Here's the deal: Mitch and Melanie kiss once, and there's a certain understanding that maybe they might want to have sex someday, but everyone is too repressed to say anything about it.

But, there will be blood.

The grossest bit is probably the poor farmer with his eyes torn out by the birds. But, you also watch someone explode in flames, which has gotta hurt, and there are bloody bodies here and there. The bird attacks are terrifying, not to mention the awful suspense of seeing the birds perching … and watching … and waiting.

Definitely not a film for impressionable young'uns.
