The Taliban

Since the Taliban came into Kabul eighteen months ago, Parvana and her family's lives have been a nightmare—they've lost their home, their jobs, and their schools, plus their city and country are in ruins. And this is all true even before the Taliban barges into their apartment one night and kidnaps Father, leaving the rest of them stranded and without a man to support them. In order for her family to survive, Parvana has to risk her life to outwit the Taliban—they are a constant threat and haunting presence even when the family's at home.
