There's no doubt about it: Francisco is our main man in this book. Not only is he the narrator, but he's also the focus of each and every story. We're with Francisco from the moment he starts dreaming about moving to California through every up and down, and since he and his family move around a lot, there are plenty of ups and downs. But the good news is that we get to hear everything Francisco thinks, which means we get to ride the roller coaster from inside his head. And that makes it even cooler.
