Jeannette Walls Timeline & Summary

At three years old, Jeannette burns herself making hot dogs.
Over the years, the Walls family moves multiple times. Jeannette falls out of the car, accidentally blows up a shack, and gets up to other unsupervised hijinks.
The Walls family moves in with Dad's mom, Erma.
Erma is sexually abusive toward Brian, and Lori and Jeannette defend him.
The Wallses soon move into their own little shack. Jeannette thinks her Dad will one day build the Glass Castle, but she soon realizes he never will.
Jeannette tries to manage the family budget while going to school and holding down a job, but Dad sabotages her every step of the way.
Dad even offers Jeannette to a man at a bar when she is a teenager. Ick.
Jeannette and Lori save up money to move Lori to NYC. Jeannette soon follows.
Jeannette goes to college, becomes a successful journalist, and marries.
Jeannette comes to terms with her bad parents when Dad dies.
Re-evaluating her life, Jeannette remarries and seems to be happy.
Jeannette reunites with her family at Thanksgiving.
