- Back inside the house, Mikey talks longingly of One-Eyed Willy's treasure, which would surely be enough to pay off his dad's debt.
- Although, even if he were to acquire the treasure, the debtors probably wouldn't accept payment in the form of rubies and emeralds. Maybe there's a Currency Exchange in the area that could handle that sort of transaction.
- Brand tells Mikey not to get any ideas. He's promised to keep his younger brother at home, and he can't get risk being grounded because he's got a date with Andy (the red-headed cheerleader) on Friday.
- Mikey doesn't seem interested, because he seems dead set on thwarting the plan to knock down their home and build a golf course in its place. His Goonie antennae appear to be way up.
- Mikey and Co. suddenly spring themselves on Brand, leaving him bound to a chair with a piece of exercise equipment. At least he should work off a few calories trying to get out of that one.
