Fandoms
Audiences have tended to love The King's Speech everywhere it's been shown. Early after its release, the movie won the "Fan Favourite" Award at the Toronto International Film Festival. And better yet, the movie won the approval of Queen Elizabeth II, who said she was "moved" by the film.
And that's really important, considering that Elizabeth actually appears in the movie as King George VI's daughter. Yup: that's her, folks.
But is steamy fanfic being written about Lionel Logue? Nope. Nor are people dressing up as King George and Queen Liz for Halloween. This film doesn't have fandoms in the way, say Twilight had fandoms. Instead, it has royal fans.
