Mayor Prentiss

When we say that Mayor Prentiss is the bad guy, we could really just say Prentisstown since they're basically the same thing. Why? Because the Mayor is behind every bad idea and every bad man. He creates Prentisstown to be a place where women and happiness don't exist, and he's responsible for monsters like Aaron, whose job it is to preach lies to the people about their misery being the will of God.

Yep, even though we don't get to know him too well, this story is Todd versus the Mayor. And if you have a lingering doubt, the end makes this very clear.
