Ben

You don't get much more of a mentor than a surrogate father who takes in an abandoned baby after his parents are murdered in an uprising. Ben is not only Todd's father figure, though, he's also the best example that Todd has of kind and good behavior. We see Todd's attachment to him throughout the book as he wishes Ben were with him to tell him what to do, and in the darkest moments, Todd looks to the memory of his surrogate dad to set him straight. So Ben guides him whether he's physically present or not.
