- That night while his sister brushes her hair, he inspects the hole in his foot from where he'd felt the sudden pain earlier. And when he pokes it… something retreats inside. So gross.
- He starts to use tweezers to pull the worm-like thing out, but it's holding on somewhere inside the tunnel in his foot.
- He slowly winds it around the tweezers, and then runs it under scalding water from the tub to get more of it out. He gets almost all of it before it snaps off, leaving a small end of it in his foot.
- He runs the part of the worm that he retrieved from his foot under the water and effectively flushes it down the drain of the tub. That takes care of that.
