• Lettie asks the boy to come back with her to her farmhouse while the cops investigate his car (and the dead body inside it, of course).
• Lettie and the boy find a dead fish floating in her ocean, which isn't normal—they cut it open and find an old coin inside, which she gives to the boy.
• When he comes to her to ask about all the weird stuff that's been happening, Lettie explains that something is trying to make people happy, but doesn't understand how.
• Lettie convinces her mother and Gran to let her take the boy with her to bind the creature that's causing all the trouble.
• She binds the creature… Or at least, she thinks she does.
• When the boy is trying to escape Ursula Monkton, he makes it onto their land, and Lettie is the one who shows up to save the day and bring him back to her house.
• She goes shopping to gather things that will keep Ursula from fleeing, places them around the boy's land, and then confronts her to make her go home.
• Lettie summons the varmints to eat Ursula because she's not cooperating, and then makes the boy stay in the fairy circle until she can think of a way to keep him safe.
