Mr. Hallorann

Danny needs someone in his life who understands what he's going through – you know, someone who's not invisible and lives in his mouth. And that person is Mr. Hallorann, because it turns out that Hallorann has the same supernatural powers that Danny does.

Both of them can communicate without using their mouths, and Hallorann makes a silent pledge to help Danny in whatever way he can because of this bond. Hallorann even tries to save Danny by returning to the Overlook Hotel. But unfortunately, Jack Torrance totally nails him in the chest with an axe and ends his short mentorship of Danny.
