Exactly how steamy is this story?
PG
At fourteen, Sym is a virgin and not too interested in changing that. Teased by her friends for being frigid, Sym spends the better part of the book worrying that something's wrong with her. She experiments a little with Sigurd, and the book includes several uninspired make out sessions, but here's the thing about Antarctica: No one really wants to take off their clothes there. And even when Sym considers consummating their relationship, she's stopped in her tracks by a serious injury.
The bottom line is that while Sym frequently thinks about sex and romance in an abstract way, nothing much really comes of it. About as crass as the book gets is the one time Titus drops the F-bomb.
