Sigurd Bruch Timeline and Summary

Before Sym (or we, as readers) meet Sigurd, Sigurd is hired by Manfred Bruch to pose as his son on a trip to Antarctica.
In Antarctica, he romances Sym, kissing her to distract her from her desire to call her mother.
Once Manfred Bruch has Victor's check in hand, he prepares to leave on the next plane. But his exit is thwarted when the plane explodes.
Sigurd is drugged by Victor, who then loads him into an all-terrain vehicle with Sym and Manfred; the four are off in search of Symmes's Hole.
Manfred reveals his (and Sigurd's) deception. Sigurd is horrified when Victor leaves Manfred to die in the cold.
Sigurd lies to Victor and Sym, pretending he's into the quest for Symmes's Hole (and Sym). He and Sym almost have sex.
Then he abandons Victor and Sym, leaving them for dead.
Sym finds Sigurd after Victor's death. Sigurd saves her life by giving her a shot of adrenaline and helping her get warm.
After he and Sym are rescued, Sigurd badmouths her on the trip home. He wants everyone to think that she's crazy so he doesn't get in trouble for being a con man.
