Detective Hal

Hal is sort of the failed mentor for Louise. He tries to tell her it's going to be all right, as long as she comes back. And we sort of believe him, right? But Hal might be a little naive to think that everyone would be as sympathetic toward these two women as he seems to be. That's certainly apparent when Thelma and Louise are at gunpoint at the end of the film, and Hal is powerless to stop any of these men from shooting them.
