Lord de Winter

Character Analysis

A powerful English noble and Milady’s brother-in-law, Lord de Winter earns the respect of the Musketeers for his gentlemanly ways and his doggedness at bringing Milady to justice. Of all characters in the novel, Lord de Winter had the best understanding of Milady’s character. He knew exactly what was going through her mind during her imprisonment.

He failed to realize, however, that his trusted lieutenant, John Felton, could be successfully corrupted.
