Character Role Analysis

Flavius

If Timon has a companion, then it's definitely Flavius. When we first meet Flavius, he's trying to look out for his master. Even though he fails at the whole warning-his-master-before-it's-too-late thing, he seems to genuinely care about Timon's well-being. He also follows Timon into the woods, knowing he can no longer be paid for his services. Flavius tries to cheer Timon up and fails, but we're pretty sure that has more to do with Timon and less to do with Flavius.

Flavius is an honest, kind-hearted guy who keeps at it with Timon even after Timon has lost hope. He's the only person Timon thinks is sincere with him, but in the end, Timon doesn't want a companion at all, and so he shoos Flavius away.
