(4) Base Camp
While the characters and their motivations in True West might be out of whack, the play itself is pretty straightforward. Shepard uses very realistic language and settings, and the events unfold chronologically. (This is not always the case with Shepard plays.) True West is also a pretty short, pretty fast read. It can be a little tough to deal with some of the actions the characters take, but it's not too much of a struggle to follow exactly what's happening.
