Vampire Academy

(3) Base Camp

The number one thing we love about our main girl (and narrator) Rose is that she's super relatable—we've all got a little of Rose in us. She's straightforward with how she feels about her friends, enemies, and crushes, and she helps us understand the world where Morois rule. She's our tour guide and always makes sure we know what's going down, and her casual and honest style makes this book a page-turner. What's more, you'll probably find yourself somewhere in the story, too. Okay, okay, most of us don't have a vampire princess as our BFF, but we do know what it's like to get in fights with our friends, disappoint parents, and crush on someone out of our league. All of that makes it easy to connect with what's happening in the story… whether you're friends with vampires or not.
