Wonder is certainly August's story, even though a lot of other people help to tell it. He's a medical wonder, for starters, who wasn't even expected to survive his first night as an infant. But not only has he survived, but he's thrived, thanks to his loving family.

Auggie's been dealt a pretty tough hand by genetic lotto, but he has a whiz-bang brain and a great personality—now he just has to figure out how to get the world to accept him despite his unusual physical appearance. What's more, his journey begins in one of the most daunting of all possible places: middle school.
