Poet William Wordsworth was born on this day in 1770. Wordsworth kicked off the Romantic Age of English lit with his trusty sidekick Samuel Taylor Coleridge. The Romantic Age focused on intense emotion and the beauty of nature. Wordsworth, as his name suggests, had a real knack for both, and his poems, such as "I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud," defined the movement. Bottom line: we're lucky his name wasn't William Boogersworth.
