Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler committed suicide in his underground bunker in Berlin on this day in 1945 after poisoning his wife of one day, Eva Braun. His men quickly burned their bodies and buried their bones. Then the Russians found them. Not wanting to turn Hitler's gravesite into a sort of demented shrine, a single Russian KGB agent was entrusted with selecting the Führer's final resting place. He and two other agents took the remains up into an undisclosed forest, burned them to ash while they ate some soup, and let one of history's most horrible monsters blow off a mountaintop.
