Edgar Allan Poe, the master of mystery and the macabre, was born on this day in 1809. Every year on his birthday, from 1949 to 2009, the equally mysterious "Poe Toaster" visited Poe's grave in Baltimore, made a toast of cognac, and left three roses in the wee small hours of the morning. He or she was never identified. Given the length of the ritual, the Poe Toaster was probably more than one person. So, uh, where were you on the morning of January 19, 2009?
