mar 17 Learn More Gottlieb Daimler Born
Automotive pioneer Gottlieb Daimler was born on this day in 1834. He and his buddy Willhelm Maybach were innovators in the field of internal combustion engines. In fact, they created the first motorcycle when they attached one of their high-speed engines to a bicycle. Later on, they attached engines to a stagecoach and to several boats. It seemed there was nothing Daimler didn't want to attach a motor to, which is probably why it's best that he didn't have any pets. And, yeah, we're impressed by them. We're still trying to figure out how best to buy a car.
