Young adult author Gary Paulsen was born on this day in 1939. Although he's penned over two hundred books (and another 200 assorted articles, stories, and plays), Paulsen's probably best known for the Hatchet series. Somehow—we suspect a Harry Potter style Time-Turner—Paulsen also finds the time to breed and train sled dogs on his 40-acre property in southern Alaska.
