If you're reading this, you have John Bardeen to thank. Who the heck is John Bardeen? Born on this day in 1908, Bardeen's the only person to win the Nobel Prize in Physics twice: once for his developments in superconductivity and once for inventing the transistor. Computers, phones—basically everything cool at Best Buy—works because of Bardeen's transistor.
