Herman Melville's Moby-Dick was published on this day in 1851. You may have been told by a lonely barista that the Starbucks coffee chain gets its name from one the book's characters, but did you know that the caffeinated corporation originally wanted to be called Pequod, after Captain Ahab's boat? Doesn't exactly have the same ring to it, does it?
