About Me
Intro
I'm smart but laid-back. I know what's important in life, and that means not keeping my nose in the books all day. Sure, I cram before my tests and get pretty good grades when I put my mind to it, but I like to build my social circle, as well.
No doubt you've heard that I'm where the party's at. I'm good like that, but I actually have some great academic programs as well, such as engineering, computer science, business, and linguistics. Sports are also pretty big with me. I'm never short of games to cheer at. You name it, I've got it.
I have lots of fraternities and sororities and some of the oldest living-learning programs. Also, my campus is gorgeous, if I do say so myself.
I may not study as hard as Harvard, or party as free as Florida State, but that's because I like balance in my life.
Name
Testudo the Turtle. Easy does it.
Hometown
Ya know DC? Capital of the country? We're right there…ish. We've got a metro stop, so it's easy enough to hop on over. College Park, MD—it's a cool place.
Birthdate
1856
Body Type
I'm large and in charge. I've got about 26,000 undergraduate students (from over 120 different countries) with another 10,000 graduate students to top it off. Don't let that fool you, though; I've got a faculty to match. That's one teacher for every eighteen students. Not bad, huh?
Throw all that onto 1,250 acres of a beautifully maintained green campus with red brick buildings, and that's big ol' me.
Current Living Situation
Alright, you want to live in College Park, right? What am I saying, of course you do. We've got tons of options here. Most freshmen live in on-campus dorms, but to be honest, these are just like the dorms your parents lived in. Some would say they're old, but I like to call them retro. Either way, they build character. That and the people on your floor will probably be some of the coolest people you've ever met.
Once you've gotten through that ordeal, you've more varied options. If you want to stay on campus, you can keep living in dorms. You may be able to snag one of the new luxury dorms like Oakland Hall or Prince Frederick Hall.
If you don't want a dorm (understandable), there are plenty of on-campus apartments to choose from, and a fair number of students also go live off campus. There's everything from luxurious high-rise apartments to town-houses you can rent with some friends.
Relationship Status
I'm kind of going through a bit of a tough time right now. Duke and I kinda had a…thing. I guess it was a pretty one-sided relationship; I couldn't stand Duke, and Duke had no idea I existed. Well, anyway, I'm out of the ACC and onto the Big Ten, ready for new beginnings in a totally random group of schools. I can't say what's coming next, but I'm sure I'll fit in soon.
You should apply to me if...
you want to get a great job and have a blast getting there.
