(3) Base Camp
Okay, we're not saying the writing in this book is particularly tough to grasp (it's geared towards kids, after all), but the format can get a little difficult at times. After all, encyclopedias and dictionaries aren't generally considered page-turners.
While Fantastic Beasts is 100% light-hearted and funny (and you should totally read it to get an idea of the magical creatures that you'll find in the Harry Potter universe), the fact is it doesn't have a story…and the bulk of it is made up of detailed magizoological observations. That can slow things down a bit.
