Kansas-Nebraska Act: Kansas Territory Geography (Section 19) Summary

On This Site: Future Home of the Jayhawks

  • From the western boundary of Missouri, along the 37th Parallel to the eastern boundary of New Mexico, then up to where the 38th parallel meets the eastern edge of Utah Territory, then up through the Rockies to the 40th parallel, then back over to the edge of Missouri: this is now known as the Territory of Kansas (or Territory Kansas, or Kansas Territory…we get the drill).
  • For rules about annexation, division, possible future Statehood, and all of that fun stuff, see Section 1; the rules for Kansas Territory are identical to those of Nebraska Territory.
