Case File: Polyphemus vs. Odysseus

Case File: Polyphemus vs. Odysseus

Police Reports

Case Description: Complainant (Polyphemus) accuses Defendant (Odysseus) of assault. According to the giant Cyclops, Polyphemus, he was innocently tending his sheep when Odysseus came along with his men and stabbed his one eye out.

Case Status: Case dismissed. What Polyphemus didn't mention is that he ate several of Odysseus's men before the hero retaliated. Also, Polyphemus's father, Poseidon, punished Odysseus by sending tons of bad storms his way. It ended up taking Odysseus seventeen years to get home to Ithaca. So the way we figure it, he more than paid for blinding one cannibalistic Cyclops.
