The London Relatives: (Uncle Sami, Aziza, and the rest)

Character Analysis

The Haji's relatives (from Mummy's side) represent the kind of melting pot of Eastern and Western cultures. When the Hajis join them, they've been in London for thirty years, and although they're ethnically Indian, they're more assimilated to English culture (which we kind of think seems pretty similar to American culture, just so you know). Aziza's the first girl that Hassan's attracted to, for whatever that's worth (them being cousins and all), and when they kiss, Hassan and his family are forced to set off on the next leg of their adventure.
