The Prince and the Pauper Chapter 32 Summary

Coronation Day

  • It's still Coronation Day.
  • It's the moment we've all been waiting for. The Archbishop of Canterbury is just about to place the crown on Tom Canty's head when Edward appears and yells that he is the king. Everyone rushes to seize him, but Tom Canty tells them that Edward really is the king.
  • For a while, everyone is confused. What are they supposed to do? There are two boys who look almost exactly the same: which one is the real king?
  • The Lord Protector has an answer to all their problems. He knows that Edward is the only person alive who knows where the Great Seal is. It takes him a while, but Edward finally remembers where he put it.
  • With the mystery solved, Edward is put back on the throne.
  • At first, everyone wants to kill Tom, which is interesting considering how much they liked him about five minutes ago.
  • Edward, however, won't let anyone kill Tom.
  • Once that's all done with, the coronation ceremonies resume.
