The Supernatural Quotes in Twilight

How we cite our quotes: (Chapter. Paragraph)

Quote #1

[Bella:] "Well...I assumed it was some kind of…occasion. But I didn't think it would be some trite human thing...prom!" I scoffed. […]

[Bella:] "Okay," I confessed in a rush. "So I was hoping that you might have changed your mind…that you were going to change me, after all." […]

A dozen emotions played across his face. Some I recognized: anger…pain…and then he seemed to collect himself and his expression became amused.

[Edward:] "You thought that would be a black tie occasion, did you?" he teased, touching the lapel of his tuxedo jacket. (Epilogue.175, 178, 180-181)

Bella is disappointed she is at the prom. She thought Edward was going to transform her into a vampire. Rather than go to a human celebration, she was hoping for a supernatural experience.

Quote #2

[Jacob to Bella:] "Well, there are lots of legends, some of them claiming to date back to the Flood – supposedly, the ancient Quileutes tied their canoes to the tops of the tallest tress on the mountain to survive like Noah and the ark." He smiled to show me how little stock he put in the histories. "Another legend claims that we descended from wolves – and that the wolves are our brothers still." (6.109)

Jacob tells Bella about some Quileute myths and stories. If vampires can exist, maybe werewolves do too?

Quote #3

[Jacob to Bella:] "You see, the cold ones are the natural enemies of the wolf– well, not the wolf, really, but the wolves that turn into men, like our ancestors. You would call them werewolves." (6.113)

According to Quileute legend, Jacob's ancestors were werewolves and the enemy of vampires like the Cullens. This mention, combined with Bella's later dream that Jacob turns into a wolf, makes us wonder – do werewolves exist in the world of Twilight?
