The biggest danger in working with computer systems is getting an electrical shock. Another is the temptation to throw a misbehaving laptop. Don't go there. Even though it's tempting, it won't help.

While your computers may get viruses, or risk their operating systems becoming obsolete, your biggest threat aside from a non-lethal shock is the 70% (source) of your day you'll spend sitting. Since the company can't live without you, get your boss to spring for a stand-up desk.

Just don't take that "stand-up" part overboard and start making bad computer jokes whenever someone enters your office. Like, if computers only have motherboards, and not fatherboards, where do new computers come from?

See? You don't want to go there.
