Since the qualification bar is set so low, and jobs like this aren't exactly one of those astronaut-level life choices, your chances of getting a job with the DMV are pretty good. As long as you can pass a civil service exam and a background check, you'll find your local station to be more than happy to consider you. They're just happy you decided to consider them, really.
