The industry generally looks good for physicians and surgeons, especially those with specialties in health issues that affect aging baby boomers (source).
If you can put up with the long hours without going crazy and keep your nose to the ground without ticking off your superiors (the ethics committee, the trauma committee, and all the other hospital bureaucrats), you'll stay employed.
"Burnout" is a definite concern, though. If you're not 110% committed going in, it won't be long before you're spending all your free time googling the Seychelles instead.
